Where I’m Eating: May 2019
These aren’t necessarily new spots in town but they are places I will be definitely be enjoying over the next few weeks.
Hundy & Their Their
This little spot is hidden in the back of Their Their and only opens from Thursday-Sunday at 5:30pm. New in town, this place has been churning out great burgers over the last few months. As a bonus, Their Their also serves some pretty epic doughnuts and coffee during the day.
DiBeppe Cafe & Restaurant
This has become one of my regular spots to get some work done, enjoy an affogato (espresso & ice cream), or savour an Italian Apertif (my personal favourite is an Aperol Spritz). They have a great happy hour that starts at 3:00pm and serve the most delicious pizzas.
Vegan or not, there is something everyone can enjoy on this all plant-based menu. They have burgers, poutines, bowls, and all sorts of comfort food that all Canadians crave. Give it a try!
4. Anh and Chi
I have loved Anh and Chi ever since they opened a few months ago now. Get the fresh mango salad, you won’t regret it in the slightest. The pho is also some of the best in Vancouver.
5. The Acorn
Another vegetarian option (we are a very health conscious city!) that really satisfies even the hungriest. They balance each dish perfectly and it is always a treat to see how creative they are with vegetables!
6. Pepino’s Spaghetti/Cafe La Tana
Pepino’s is new in Vancouver but already has been drawing lots of praise from the community. By day, it operates as Cafe La Tana and serves wonderful pastry, coffee, and light lunch. Pepino’s serves up classic Italian and they focus on creating a family style meal
7. Salt Tasting Room
This wine tasting bar has been on my favourites list forever but I just keep coming back. Their wine list changes often enough that there is always something new to checkout. For the full experience, order a wine flight and get a charcuterie board paired with your selections.
8. Coquille Fine Seafood
I’ve been loving this new addition to the Gastown neighbourhood. The sister restaurant to L’Abattoir is serving super fresh seafood and has a great happy hour from 3-6pm each day.
I always love to have a good sushi restaurant in my back pocket and Vancouver does not have a shortage of great options but I will always love Miku. Try the salmon aburi and a cocktail.
This is one of my favourite bars in Vancouver. Located in East Vancouver, this funky distillery creates not only delicious spirits (their Oaken Gin is my favourite) but they also have a phenomenal bar.
Happy Exploring and cheers!
